Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I give 1 star because our waitress was great. And the manager seemed real nice and obviously was working hard to make people happy and the Guacamole at our table preparation done by our waitress was pretty good. But the food was atrocious. My wife did not eat her Floutas(spelling) and I ate my meat stuffed poblano but wow, close to inedible. Really. We had a table of 8 and at least 4 just did not like their food. The AC inside seemed to be working badly so we ate outside. We got a pitcher of margaritas. Everyone thought they were pretty bad, some actually saying worse they ever had. I was not as turned off by them but was definitely not great. I stretched to give 2 stars primarily because our waitress was very friendly and we want to love this place but you have to get your food more consistent(not consistently bad). Whoever the chef was last night needs to do something else. Just can't get away with that kind of food. We will not be back soon.

Not bad, but nothing special. Run of the mill Mexican food really. It seems most of the patrons come here during happy hour for the cheap drinks. Got the fish tacos, which were decent, but nothing special. I wouldn't go as far as some of the other reviews though. Coming from California, I know what good Mexican food is like, and while La Hacienda isn't great, it's decent for South Carolina.

I used to go here once a week to satisfy my craving and coupons ... But i hate that the management and staff changed only two servers I've seen that I know does a good job but . Man a the new people dingy and just plan not good .. Where the pros go???

I came here expecting food that I loved when I grew up in Mount Pleasant. Unfortunately, the food tasted terrible and the service was sub par. After ten years of living in another state I'm so disappointed in this place. What a let down :(

Good Americanized Mexican. Sometimes the food can be hit or miss, but is usually consistently OK. Usually have some decent early bird drink specials.

Typical Mexican fare. I had the Quesadilla's. They tasted ok, the onions and mushrooms with the chicken was a nice touch but the flavors were just not there. The side salad left a lot to be desired with the very runny guacamole. The meal came with some rice, which was pleasantly tasty and seasoned well. However, it could not save the meal. Don't even bother with the Margarita's, they come out of a huge slushy style drum and tasted awful. I love a good Margarita and I couldn't finish half of this one, I felt my blood sugar spiking with the sheer amount of sugar in the thing! There are to many other options around town for good Mexican.

Listen. I'm not picky about my Mexican food. I generally think it's hard to mess up and even average Mexican is pretty tasty. I've eaten at the RIVERS AVENUE La Ha numerous times and have been a-okay with it! We were in the area and hungry so we ended up at ths La Ha. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees. They only brought one bowl of salsa instead of the little plastic jug with a bowl which is the first time that's ever happened to me at ANY Mexican joint. I won't invest too much time into this review but I will say that we didn't eat even half of our food and my guy felt bad, so boxed it all up LOL! When he dropped me off at home, I told him I didn't want leftovers and he said he didn't either so it went straight into the trash. I don't waste food!! Ew. Just avoid.

I'm sad to say that this was a disappointment. This was my second time at this location and it was pretty terrible. The service was good, but the food was not on par with their other locations. The chain near Park West and the location near the outlet mall in North Chars are well worth a visit. Maybe the kitchen staff at this local needs a visit from the cooks at the other places. My food was over cooked, dried out, yet greasy, and lacked flavor. It reminded me of cafeteria food and not the good kind. My hubby's food was also over cooked and dried out. Shortly after leaving, his stomach rebelled. The best part was the service, which was friendly and attentive. The chips and salsa are consistently good, I just wish we could undo the rest of the meal.

I have had mixed emotions about this restaurant. Their salsa is usually pretty good with a nice heat to it, which I love, but their meals seem to depend on who is cooking that night. They do have a steak vulcan which is great, if your server takes your order correctly. My more recent visits have had blaring music and a lot of order mess-ups, so I think it's time to find another restaurant in the area. We were also seated forever before someone even came to check on us and realized we hadn't even placed drink orders yet. Rio Grande in Belle Hall has never disappointed, so I think we will just visit there!

It was ok. Had to wait on service and the place was empty on a Saturday at 5:30pm. I had the carne asada and it tasted funky. I ordered some chiles toreados and she only gave me one pepper, which was a major disappointment. All I can say was that it was ok, but I don't think I will be back for the food. La caretta has much better food.

I haven't been to La Ha in forever so I figured I give it another chance. Despite the servers being on cell phones in the dining room...our service was great. The food was fine. It wasn't anything special. The flavor of the beans was slightly off for me and the lettace in my taco salad seems a little old. Overall, my least favorite mexican place in the area. They do have good lunch prices though...

Really good food for a good price. Love coming when I'm in town. The beans are fabulous and serve chrizo often on the menu. Complements anything in my opinion. Good drink specials. Nothing is over priced. :)

On vacation from California where good Mexican resturants are on every corner ,we decided to see if good Mexican food was possible so far from Mexico, we were pleasantly surprised.good service and a real good "midnight margarita" .

My husband and I gave this restaurant a 3rd try last night. The salsa is great! However, everything else was bad. I refused to eat my tacos because they smelled funk. My husband ate his and woke up in the middle of the night throwing up.

We went with our two very hungry small boys. We had not been in over a year, but it was the closest thing to feed two boys FAST! We were pleasantly SURPRISED!!! The food was great! I ordered the Seafood Quesadilla and it was stuffed with fresh peppers and tomatoes, TENDER Scallops and shrimp. The presentation was beautiful with fresh mexican rice and a small tortilla bowl filled with fresh guacamole sour cream, lettuce and tomato. I was thoroughly impressed with how tender the scallops and shrimp were. Give this place another chance! Its worth it! you will be surprised!

Basic Mexican food in a strip mall. Found the food to be decent and fresh and the service good. Chips and salsa were decent as well. The menu is huge offering most mainstream Mexican fare, nothing creative. The enchilada's tasted good too. It is what it is. If you want standard Mexican fare, complete with Mariachi music in the background, this is as textbook 101 as it gets.

I used to love this place but lately it's gone down hill and I will not be returning. My last two visits were well, weird. First, the music. There used to be standard Mexican music playing but my last two visits there was also a mix of rap music and one song with repeated curse words not for children's ears and not what I wanted to hear either as well as deafening techno music as if you were in a night club. I decided to give them one more chance but at my last visit there was a horrible stench in the restrooms and sewage on the floors. The smell was almost enough to make me vomit. Between the smell and the horrible choice of vulgar rap music I'll be looking elsewhere for good Mexican food.

It's Mexican, what more do you want? Run-of-the-mill Mexican food. I've only been there once so far and the service was kind of slow. I'm still in search of a Mexican restaurant to call my own.

I love this place. I eat here about two times a week. The staff is wonderful, and the place is really designed well. The food is good, but I will let you know that it is not an American Mexican food, it is authentic. I love it here, and will continue to go back. I will say that it is in a weird location, but it is worth it.

I have been eating at "La Haha" for several years and this is the worse location. Horrible service and atmosphere.
